Situated on Suvorovskaya Ploschad (Suvorov Square) is a statue of the square's namesake - Aleksandr Suvorov, the celebrated 18th-century Generalissimo of the Russian Empire who is famed for never losing a single battle. Located in the northern wing of the Mariinsky Hospital is the Fyodor Dostoevsky Apartment-Museum. Dostoevsky was born in this hospital in 1821 and lived in the apartment where the museum is now located from 1823 to 1837 as his father worked at the hospital. The museum was opened in 1928 and restored between 1979 and 1982. The museum is run as a branch of the State Literature Museum. Located in Festivalny Park is the large classical style Holy Spirit Church which dates from the 1780s.
