Soligalich
Soligalich began its history as Sol Galichskaya which literally means “salt of Galich”. It got this name due to its salt works which once supplied salt for the north-west of Russia and even parts of Scandinavia, making it an important centre of trade in the process. Soligalich now though has become a quaint provincial city and a minor spa resort, somewhat off the beaten track.
