Zelenogradsk

Zelenogradsk was previously part of Prussia and known as Cranz. During this time it was a popular bathing resort on the Baltic Coast. It was annexed to Russia following the Soviet Victory in the Second World War and renamed Zelenogradsk from the Russian word for green.  Tourists still come here to enjoy the coast, especially the nearby UNESCO-protected Curonian Spit - a must see natural wonder.
