Kenozersky National Park
The Kenozersky National Park was established in 1991 and is divided into two sectors: the Kargopolsky and the Plesetsky. It is famed for its lakes - the main one being Kenozero, after which the park is named - plus its unique wooden churches whose ceilings are decorated with vibrant paintings of saints.
The main settlement in the park is the village of Vershinino, which can serve as a base for exploring the park. Much investment has been made into turning the park into an eco-tourist resort and while here you can try some of the local, ecologically clean fish as well as various berries.
