Standing outside the Traffic Police Department for the Moscow Region is a statue of the popular children's book character Uncle Styopa. Uncle Styopa was a tall and honest policeman created by the Soviet author and poet Sergei Mikhalkov. The monument was unveiled in 2008 and depicts Styopa in a modern uniform rescuing a bird from a set of traffic lights, which is a scene from one of books.
