Situated on Suvorovskaya Ploschad (Suvorov Square) is a statue of the square's namesake - Aleksandr Suvorov, the celebrated 18th-century Generalissimo of the Russian Empire who is famed for never losing a single battle. The monument was unveiled in 1982 and is the work of the sculptor Oleg Komov. Opposite to the statue is the impressive star-shaped Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army.
