Lipetsk

Lipetsk gets its name from the Russian word for linden trees but is now more famous for the metal works first established here by Peter the Great. Its connection with metal works continues to this day, being the home of Novolipetsk Steel. From Lipetsk you can also visit the prettier regional cities of Yelets and Zadonsk.
