This winter three-day snowmobile and husky tour is one of the most popular trips to this winter wonderland with its endless snowy forests, frozen lakes and crisp air. During this tour you will not just get to ride snowmobiles and take dog-sleigh ride across forests, fields and lakes, but you will also learn about the nature of the region and visit the village of Rubcheyla with its wonderful wooden architecture. You will also visit the unique Three Bears Zoo-Complex located in a forest where bears, lynxes, wolves, polecats and other animals live.
Karelia is one of the natural highlight of Russia, where the harsh northern nature is complemented with masterpieces of wooden architecture and the traditions of its local people. This, along with its proximity and transport links with Moscow and St Petersburg, is what has made Karelia one of the most popular tourist routes in the country.

DAY1 | DOG-SLEIGHDING SAFARI
Arrival to Petrozavodsk and transfer to the start point of dog-sleighding safari.
Distance: 90km
Meeting with the dog-sleigh driver and a briefing on managing the sled.
A round trip on the dog-sleigh. The route is along picturesque countryside and forest. It is of a medium level with some downhill and uphill section and abrupt turns. At the end of the safari you will have lunch and an opportunity to stroke the dogs and take photos with them.
Distance: 10-12km.
Lunch.
Transfer to Kivach reserve. The waterfall "Kivach" - the second largest flat waterfall in Europe falls four ledges from a height of 10.7m. The name of the waterfall comes from the Karelian word kivas - a snow mountain. You will also visit the museum of nature and the alley of the Karelian birch.
After the excursion a transfer to the tourist base.

DAY2 | SNOWMOBILE TRIP
Breakfast at the tourist base.
Selection of snowmobile equipment. Briefing on driving the snowmobile and snowmobile safety. Training session on driving a snowmobile. A round trip on a snowmobile along a forest path.
Tourist base → Veshkelitsa village → Tourist base.
Distance: 80km.
The village of Veshkelitsa, standing on the banks of seven small lakes - Kirikiyarvi, Matkayarvi, Kovrajärvi and others. Here you can see the Karelian nature in all its diversity. Veshkelitsa is cut by differences in the heights of hills and valleys, steep banks. You are welcome to discover the folklore tradition of Syamozerya, the performance of the village folklore group. The friendly hostesses will take you with a lunch of national Karelian cuisine.

DAY3 | SNOWMOBILE TRIP TO THE THREE BEARS ZOO COMPLEX

This day you will have another round trip on the snowmobile along a forest path.
Tourist base → Three Bears Zoo Complex → Tourist base
Distance: 80km.
The Three Bears Zoo-Complex is located in a pine forest on Lake Syamozero. The animals, including bears, moose, raccoons, raccoon dogs, lynxes, wolves, polecats, arctic foxes and many others, live in cages or enclosures in the forest. The guide will tell about the animals, their habits and their typical habitat. You will not only get to see the animals, but also to participate in feeding them.
On the way back you will have a snack with tea, sandwiches and sweets.
Upon your return to the tourist base you will have a transfer to Petrozavodsk.
Dinner in a cafe in Petrozavodsk.
Overnight train to Moscow or St Petersburg.
- You must be 18 or over to drive the snowmobiles.
- The tour is recommended for children aged 12 and above.
- The places on the tour are limited so we recommend booking in advance.
- The premium train from Moscow has first-class (two beds in a compartment) and second-class (four beds in a compartment) carriages. As it is the most comfortable train to Petrozavodsk, tickets sell out quickly. Approximate prices for a place in first class - USD125, for a place in second class -USD94. The closer to the date of the tour, the more expensive the tickets.
- You should take with you: a backpack, suitable comfortable clothes: trousers, a warm sweater, thick outer socks and thin socks for wearing underneath, t-shirts, warm coat, warm hat, warm gloves and warm walking boots.
- All equipment for the snowmobile is provided, but we recommend that you bring your own head protection for wearing under the helmet.
