Ulitsa Tryokhsvyatskaya

Tver's main pedestrian street is Ulitsa Tryokhsvyatskaya (Three-Saints Street) which runs from Naberezhnaya Stepana Razina, across Ploschad Lenina and down to Prospekt Chaikovskogo. The street was created in the mid-18th century after a great fire destroyed most of the city centre but which gave an opportunity for new town planning. From 1919 to 1991 the street was known as Ulitsa Moiseya Ugritskogo, after a local Communist Party member. Now the street is a pleasant place for walking with lots of cafes and souvenir stalls.
