Mikhail Saltykov-Schedrin Museum

 

Mikhail Saltykov-Schedrin was a famous satirist who was born in the Tver Governorate in 1826. Between 1860 and 1862 Satykov-Schedrin served as vice-governor of Tver and the house where he lived at this time is now the Mikhail Saltykov-Schedrin Museum. The museum was opened in 1976 on the 150th anniversary of Saltykov-Schedrin's birth and details his life and work. Part of the displays are made up of decorative panels based on Saltykov-Schedrin's work. The museum is run as part of the Tver State Unified Museum.
