Aleksandr Nevsky’s Cathedral
Work on the construction of Aleksandr Nevsky's Cathedral started in 2010 using funds raised from the public and it is hoped to be completed by 2014. Previously in this area outside the railway station a church was built on the orders of Emperor Alexander II in 1893. In 1921 this church was closed and subsequently used as a store for bread. After the war it was used as a grocery, until it was completely demolished in 1984.
