Just off Ulitsa Pyatnitskaya is Chernigovsky Pereulok which is named after its church dedicated to Prince Mikhail of Chernigov and his boyar Fyodor who were executed on the orders of Khan Batu and later canonised by the Russian Orthodox Church. The church was completed in 1675 and is an example of the architectural style known as Russian Uzorochye with decorative domes and kokoshniks. The church was closed between 1924 and 1991.
