Three Holy Hierarchs Church at Kulishki

Located on top of the hill known as Ivanovskaya Hill is the beautiful Three Holy Hierarchs Church at Kulishki. The church was built between 1670 and 1674 in land recently vacated by a royal estate founded by Grand Prince Vasili I in the 15th century. The church has two stories and a bell tower built onto the corner. The second floor is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. In 1927 the church was closed and subsequently used by the NKVD for accommodation and then as an animation studio. It was eventually returned to the Orthodox Church in 1991 and restored.
