At the end of Ulitsa Nikoloyamskaya, close to Andronievskaya Ploschad, is the St Alexius, Metropolitan of Moscow's Church at Rogozhskaya Sloboda. The church was built in the baroque style in the mid-18th century according to a plan by the architect Dmitri Ukhtomsky. During the Soviet era the church was closed and heavily damaged. It was returned to the Orthodox Church in the 1990s and restoration work was carried out.
