Sholem Aleichem Monument
At the end of Ulitsa Bolshaya Bronnaya is a small monument to the Jewish author and playwright Sholem Rabinovich, who is better known as Sholem Aleichem. Sholem Aleichem was born in the Russian Empire in what is now Ukraine, but emigrated in 1905 to America. He is best known for his stories about 'Tevye the Milkman' on which the musical 'Fiddler on the Roof' is based. The statue was unveiled in 2001 and depicts the author on a tall pedestal decorated with characters from his stories.
