'Icon House' Museum
The 'Icon House' Museum was opened in 2009 and is dedicated to the icon and other Christian artwork. The museum consists of two floors with three halls. The Red Hall displays icons in interiors of various types of houses which existed before the Revolution. It also features icons which can be touched to experience their reliefs. The Collection Hall has many examples of Russian icons, some in their original iconostases. The Academic Hall explains the history of icons and finally the Museum Hall hold especially valuable icons, including ones which belonged to Emperor Nicholas II. In addition the Icon House also holds various temporary exhibitions, lectures, master classes and concerts.
