Aleksandr Blok Monument
Slightly hidden among the trees in a small park on Ulitsa Spiridonovka is a statue of the lyrical poet Aleksandr Blok, who is traditionally more associated with St Petersburg than Moscow. This statue of him by the sculptor Oleg Komov however was unveiled here in 1904 outside the house where the poet briefly stayed after his marriage to Lyubov Mendeleeva, the daughter of the inventor of the periodic table.
