Around Tverskoy Bulvar
Kliment Timiryazev Monument
Standing at the beginning of Tverskaya Bulvar is a monument to Kliment Timiryazev. Timiryazev was one of Russia's greatest botanists and physiologists. The monument was unveiled in 1923. During the Second World War the statue was bombed and knocked off its pedestal. It was quickly restored after the war, but traces of the damage remain.
