Elektrozavodskaya
Eletrozavodskaya (Electric Station) is so named due to the factories located nearby. It was opened in 1944. Outside the metro station is a sculpture dedicated to the builders of the Moscow Metro. The walls of the vestibule are decorated with red marble and medallions featuring portraits of famous scientists (Mikhail Lomonosov, Pavel Yablochkov, Aleksandr Popov, Michael Faraday, Benjamin Franklin and William Gilbert) and their inventions. The station's pillars are covered with marble and 12 high reliefs on the theme of industrial labourers, transport workers and farmers during the war years. On the ceiling of the station there are 318 round hollows with lights. The walls along the platforms are made out of ancient red Georgian marble which contains fossils of various forms.
