Resurrection Church by Arbatskaya Ploschad
The small red Resurrection Church was built in 1688 and was originally dedicated to St Philip, Metropolitan of Moscow. In 1818 the church became a podvorye (embassy church) of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem and was renamed the Resurrection Church in the following year. The church remained open throughout the Soviet period.
