Samovar Monument
Yelabuga's central square is Khlebnaya Ploschad (Bread Square) which features a four metre statue of a samovar - a special Russian water boiler for tea. The monument was unveiled outside Hotel Toyma in 2008 and symbolises both Yelabuga's past as a city of merchants and the comfort and family warmth associated with the samovar. The area around the monument is also improved with flowerbeds, archways and benches.
