Also situated on Sobornaya Gora is St John the Baptist's Church. The church's original cube structure topped with a single dome was built in 1703. Later another building was added onto this to hold a sacristy. In the late 18th century the original part was reconstructed and at the same time another building was added to hold a refectory.
