In 1974 the wooden mansion where the famous 19th-century Russian author Nikolai Leskov spent his childhood was turned into the Nikolai Leskov House-Museum. The museum follows the creative journey of Leskov's writing and includes many items of the author himself. On display are Leskov's manuscripts, photographs and letters as well as his writing desk and library. The museum is run as part of the Ivan Turgenev State Literary Museum.
