Ivan Turgenev State Literary Museum
The Ivan Turgenev State Literary Museum is one of the oldest literary museums in Russia having been founded in 1918 on the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian author in Oryol. It is housed in a late-19th century mansion and details the work and life of Turgenev, including his life abroad and his love for the French singer Pauline Viardot. Also on display are personal belongings of Turgenev.
