On Ploschad Dvukh Pevolyutsi (which translates as Two Revolutions Square) stands a statue of a silver-coloured Lenin in his standard outstretched arm pose. The statue made headlines in January 2010 when it was mistakenly believed that it had been kidnapped by vandals after it disappeared one day during the long New Year Holidays. In fact it turned out that the statue had just been removed for renovation work.
