Located next to the Kaluga Regional Museum is the building known as Makarov Chambers which was constructed in 1728. Like the Korobov Chambers, the Makarov Chambers are named after their previous owner. Today rather surprisingly the building is still used for its original purpose - accommodation, making it the oldest inhabited building in Kaluga.
