Our Lady of Vladimir Church

The Our Lady of Vladimir Church was built between 1902 and 1904 outside of the historical centre of Ivanovo. In form it is a red-brick church with three apses and topped with five black domes. In 1916 the church and its community were converted into a monastery which existed up until 1927 when the convent was closed so that its buildings could be used as barracks for a flight squadron. The church was eventually returned to the Orthodox Church in 1993 and underwent reconstruction.
