Standing on Ploschad 40-letia Pobedy (40th Anniversary of Victory Square) is St George's Church. Work on the church was started in 2005 on the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and was completed two years later in 2007. In form it represents a tall white gable church with a single golden dome. The church also stands as a memorial to those who fell in the Second World War.
