The Ğabdulla Tuqay Literary Museum is located in the grand manor house known as Shamil House which was built in 1903. The museum was opened in 1986 and is dedicated to the work and life of the famous Tatar poet Ğabdulla Tuqay (Gabdulla Tukai), who is credited with being the main founder of modern Tatar literature.
