The main landmark of Chebosary is the 46-metre tall Mother-Protectress Monument which stands overlooking the Cheboksary Bay.  The monument was unveiled in 2003 and is dedicated to all mothers.  It depicts an open-armed mother in traditional Chuvash national dress.  The pedestal bears the inscription "My blessed children living in peace and love" in both Russian and Chuvash.
