Ivan Yakovlev Monument
Ivan Yakovlev was a Chuvash educator and writer who established the Simbirsk Chuvash School, with the aid of Lenin's father Ilya Ulyanov. Yakovlev was also responsible for creating an alphabet for the Chuvash language and for translating many classic works of Russian authors into Chuvash. This monument of him was appropriately unveiled outside the Ivan Yakovlev National Library.
