On Yelagin Island
Kirov Central Park
In 1932 the whole of Yelagin Island, including the former estate park of the Yelagin Palace, was turned into a park of culture and rest. The park was later named in honour of Sergey Kirov after his assassination in 1934. The park features various monuments (including one of Sergey Kirov), cafes and beaches.
