Artillery Museum

St Petersburg's Artillery Museum is official called the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal Corps and is considered to have been founded in 1703 when Peter the Great ordered that old cannons be preserved. It has been located in the crownwork of the Peter and Paul Fortress since 1869 and today is one of the largest military museums in the world with hundreds of thousands of expositions, including cannons, self-propelled guns and rocket launchers. The museum also includes displays and portraits of various military leaders and paintings of various battle scenes.
