On Petrogradsky Island
300th Anniversary of the Russian Fleet Monument
In 1996 a monument was unveiled in the very south-eastern corner of Petrogradsky Island to commemorate the 300th Anniversary of the Russian Fleet, which is considered to have been founded in 1696. The monument consists of a statue of Nika, the Greek goddess of victory, holding a model of a ship in her hands.
