Aleksandr Blok Apartment-Museum

In 1980 the Aleksandr Blok Apartment-Museum was opened in the apartment where the famous Russian lyrical poet lived from 1912 until his death in 1921.  Its opening was part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of Blok's birth. The museum consists of two parts: the memorial part located in Blok's apartment which displays his personal belongings; and the literary exhibition which details the life and work of Blok. Today the apartment-museum is run as a branch of the History of St Petersburg Museum.
