Dmitri Mendeleev Monument

The Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev is most famous for creating the periodic table which is also known as the Mendeleev Table. This statue of him was unveiled in 1932 outside the building of the Bureau of Weights and Measures where Mendeleev once worked (now it is known as the Mendeleev Metrology Institute). Also located nearby is the St Petersburg Technological Institute, where Mendeleev studied.
