The Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House was opened in 1989 on the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous Soviet poet.  It was opened in the 18th century Sheremetyev Palace, which is more commonly known as the Fountain House and is where Akhmatova once live.  The museum has collected and now displays various items connected with Akhmatova and her work.  To get to the museum you should walk to 53 Liteyny Prospekt and go through the arch to the gardens where you will then see a sign directing you.
