Electronic Russian visa
Starting from 1 August, 2023, foreigners visiting Russia can easily apply for an electronic visa. This visa allows a single entry into the country and a stay of up to 16 days, regardless of the arrival and departure time. It's a simplified process for citizens of 55 countries.
You can obtain the electronic visa for Russia on the special website electronic-visa.kdmid.ru or through the mobile application of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Remember to apply at least four days before your intended entry into the country. To complete the application, you'll need personal photos and a passport photo (in JPEG format).
The visa costs around $52, and each family member, including minors, needs a separate application.
The visa is valid for 60 days from the date of issuance and will be granted within four calendar days, regardless of whether they are working days or holidays. You don't need any invitations or additional documents as a tourist.
You can use the electronic visa to enter Russia through most airports and border crossings in the country. However, if you're flying to smaller cities, it's better to check in advance whether the chosen point of entry accepts the electronic visa.
