War Memorial and Eternal Flame

Yaroslavl's Second World War memorial was opened in 1968 and is made up of two large stone plinths: one with an engraving of a soldier and one with an engraving of a woman, representing the heroes of the front and the heroes of labour respectively. A eternal flame is in between these two plinths which now also perfectly frame the Dormition Cathedral having been rebuilt in its previous location.
