The History of Yaroslavl Museum was opened in 1999 inside the baroque-style mansion of the Vakhrameev family. Much of the interior of the merchant's mansion has been preserved. The museum's exhibitions tell of the history of the ancient city and display findings from archaeological digs, icons of the princes of Yaroslavl, coins, ancient weapons and many paintings and photographs of famous citizens of Yaroslavl.
