Vladimir Vysotsky was a Soviet singer, songwriter, poet and actor whose career spanned from the 1960s to his death in 1980. He was immensely famous during his lifetime and obtained iconic status after his death. In 2008 a sculpture of Vysotsky was unveiled in Dubna to commemorate what would have been his 70th birthday and in remembrance of his performances in Dubna.
