Memorial Museum of 1941-1945

In 1995 on the 50th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in the Second World War, the Memorial Museum of 1941-1945 was opened in Chekhov. The museum's exhibits tell of the efforts of the citizens and home guard of Lopasnya which was located on the frontline of the war. Special attention is paid to the battle around the village of Leonovo and to Viktor Talalikhin who was the first pilot to perform aerial ramming at night over Lopasnya when he had run out of ammunition. He was later killed in a subsequent aerial dogfight over Podolsk.
