DESCRIPTION 

The Bolshoi Theatre is a world famous brand of ballet and opera art. The current theatre building was built in 1856, but between 2005 and 2011 the original stage of the theatre was closed and billions of roubles were spent restoring, refurbishing and improving the theatre in order to maintain the theatre's status as one of the world's leading ballet theatres. During the restoration, the building's interior was returned its original imperial décor and the hammer and sickle on the outside was replaced with the double-headed eagle. 
There are two ways to see all this beauty and decoration in person - buy tickets for a performance (which can be extremely expensive or not available at all due to high popularity) or visit the theatre with an excursion. During the excursion you will see all the main halls of the building and learn lots of information about the theatre and its daily life. If you are lucky you may even see a rehersal in the main hall of the theatre.
