The Karelian city of Kondopoga is famous for its stunning example of traditional Russian North architecture in the form of a 18th century wooden church. Any visit to Kondopoda should also be accompanied with a trip to the nearby Kivach Waterfall located within the beautiful Kivach Nature Reserve. It is relatively simple to visit Kondopoga from Petrozavodsk and many tours of Kondopoga and Kivach are offered in the Karelian capital.
