Novosibirsk Region

The Novosibirsk Region is located in Western Siberia in between Kazakhstan and Russia’s Tomsk, Omsk and Kemerovo Regions and the Altai Territory.

The administrative centre of the city is Novosibirsk which is also regarded as the capital of Siberia.  It is also the third biggest Russian city in terms of population after Moscow and St Petersburg.  The city makes an interesting stop as part of a journey on the Trans-Siberian Railway to give travellers a chance to stretch their legs and enjoy some comforts exploring the major Siberian megapolis.  At over 100 years old the city also has many historical sights and boasts the largest theatre in the country.
