Transport in Pereslavl-Zalessky

Pereslavl-Zalessky is located away from the railroad and is too small to have an airport. Therefore the only way to get to this Golden Ring city is by car or bus.

 Pereslavl Bus Station

The only bus station of the city is situated at the entrance into the city. To get the city centre from the bus station take bus No. 1 which goes along the main road of the city. The bus stop is located just next the bus station.

 Railway Station

The closest railway stations to Pereslavl-Zalessky are located 20km away - in Berendeevo (Берендеево) or 22km away - in Ryazantsevo (Рязанцево). Both stations are on the route from Moscow - Yaroslavl, but only suburban trains (elektrichka) from Yaroslavl and Aleksandrov make a stop on both stations.

The closest and most convenient railway station for the Trans-Siberian Railway is in Rostov Veliky - 65km from Pereslavl.


Getting to/from Pereslavl - Zalessky

 

From Moscow

  The easiest way to get Pereslavl-Zalessky is to get a direct bus from Schyolkovskaya Bus Station (Schyolkovskaya metro station - Щелковская). It takes around three hours depending on traffic and bear in mind that Pereslavl-Zalessky is located along Yaroslavskoe highway leading to Yaroslavl - one of Moscow’s busiest highways. There are up to 12 buses a day from Moscow to Pereslavl-Zalessky - some of them are transit and make a short stop on the way to Kostroma or Yaroslavl.


If you are planning to go back to Moscow after Pereslavl-Zalessky on a Sunday evening in summer, you could always first get a bus to Sergiev Posad and then get an elektrichka to Moscow to avoid traffic jams.


From St Petersburg.

There are no direct buses from St Petersburg, however you can get a direct train to Yaroslavl or Kostroma from where you can take a bus to Pereslavl.
