Located at the entrance of Pushkin park is a monument of Andrey Rublev, Russia's most famous icon painter. The statue was unveiled in 1995 as part of the city's millennium celebrations (based on the revaluation of the date of foundation) and is the work of the well-known sculptor Oleg Komov. The statue is close to the Dormition Cathedral, which Rublev himself had a hand in decorating.
