Tula Railway Station

Tula-1-Moskovsky Railway Station (also called Tula-1-Kursky) is located about 2.5km from the Tula Kremlin. You can get to the central Ulitsa Sovetskaya from the station by minibus (marshrutka) No. 6T, No. 8K or No. 35, or by bus No. 16, No. 13 and No.37.

Cities directly connected with Tula by train: Moscow Kursky, St Petersburg Moskovsky or Ladozhsky, Kislovodsk, Voronezh, Kursk, Belgorod, Oryol, Mineralnye Vody, Novorossiysk, Vladikavkaz and Makhachkala.

International destinations include: Kharkiv, Simferopol, Baku, Donetsk, Sevastopol and Kerch.

Tula Bus Station

Tula Bus Station is located next to Ploschad Pobedy, which is about 3km from the Tula Kremlin. Buses No. 18, 25, 28 and 37, minibuses (marshrutka) No. 18, 17, 35, 30 and trolleybuses No. 1, 2 and 11 run from along Prospekt Lenina to the bus station. Get off at the Ploschad Pobedy or Ulitsa Stanislavskogo stop.

Getting to/from Tula

From Moscow

By Train:Mainy long distance trains, both standard one and premium ones, connect Moscow with Tula, however it is probably easier to get there using express or suburban trains. Long distance trains from Moscow can take between 2½ and 4 hours to get to Tula.

By Express Train:  The most convenient way to get to Tula from Moscow is by taking the Moscow Kursky (Курский Вокзал) - Kursk express train, although it only works on weekends. These trains also stop at Mtsenk. In addition there is a daily Moscow Kursky - Tula express train but it leaves Moscow in the evening and Tula in the morning. It takes 2½ hours. Tickets for these trains must be bought as if for a long distance train.

By Suburban Train (Elektrichka):   Suburban trains also run from Tula-1 Railway Station which connect Tula with Moscow Kursky (Kurskaya metro station - Станция метро Курская) and Moscow Kalanchyovskaya. These trains to Moscow also sometimes stop at Podolsk, Chekhov and Serpukhov.

By Bus:   Buses from Moscow to Tula leave from few bus stop in Moscow. From Shyolkovsky Bus Station (Shyolkovskaya metro station) leaves mostly transit buses and not very often. Other buses and minibuses run more frequently from Bulvar Dmitria Donskogo metro station, Domodedovskaya metro station or Krasnogvardeyskaya metro station. These buses leave on the hour and stop next to the monument on Ploschad Pobedy in Tula. Duration about 3 hours.

From St Petersburg

From St Petersburg, most trains heading to south Russia or Ukraine stop in Tula, there are at least 3 of such trains a day and take around 9 - 12 hours.


Getting around the Tula Region

To Yasnaya Polyana (Ясная Поляна)

Из Тулы до Ясной Поляны можно добраться автобусом или маршруткой №114, 117, 280 от остановки «Ул. Мосина» или «9 Мая/Автовокзал» до остановки «Ясная Поляна». Справа от остановки - ворота с двойными белыми колоннами с надписью «Ясная Поляна». Distance - 15km. Duration 20 minutes.

To Suzdal (Суздаль)

Buses leave from Vladimir Bus Station to Suzdal Bus Station around every hour. It takes approximately 50 minutes. Buses arrive at Suzdal Bus Station which is located on the outskirts of the city. After a short stop, the buses normally then go onto Suzdal city centre.

To other cities of the Golden Ring

From Vladimir Bus Station you can continue your trip around the Golden Ring provincial cities such as Yuriev-Polsky (Юрьев-Польский), Gorokhovets (Гороховец), Murom (Муром), Kovrov (Ковров) and others. For some destination it is possibile to buy tickets online.
