Ivan Pozhalostin Museum of Art (November 2011)

The Ivan Pozhalostin Ryazan State Regional Museum of Art, to give it its full title, was established in 1913 and is located in a late 18th-century classical style building. Ivan Pozhalostin, after whom the museum is named, was a famous 19th-century engraver who was born in the Ryazan Governorate and his work is included in the museum's exhibits, among many other Russian and Western artists. Also on display are many items of folk art and some ancient icons.
