  Ivanovo Railway station  is located away from the city centre and was built in 1932. Ivanovo railway station is a perfect example of Soviet Konstruktivizm style. Ivanovo Railway Station is located in the north of the city rather far from the centre, however many buses and trolleybuses connect it with the centre. Next to the railway station is a bus station, although it is not the city's main bus station which is located in the south of the city. Railway station is located about 600m from the main street of the city - Prospekt Lenina (Проспект Ленина). To get city centre take troleybus No.8 or No.1, they go along prospekt Lenina.

 Ivanovo Bus Station

Ivanovo Bus Station is located in the south of the city rather far from the centre, however buses and trolleybuses run here frequently. In addition there is a small bus station next to the railway station, most buses to/from Plyos make a stop here.

 Ivanovo Airport

Ivanovo-Yuzhny Airport is located about 7km south-west of the city centre and 11km from the railway station. To get the airport from the railway station take trolleybus No. 11 (it also passes Ivanovo Bus Station).

Getting to/from Ivanovo

It is relatively easy to reach Ivanovo from both Moscow and St Petersburg by train and there are also lots of buses between Ivanovo and the capital. Ivanovo also has good transport links with other Golden Ring Cities, including Kostroma, Suzdal, Vladimir and Yaroslavl. In addition buses connected Ivanovo with the regional cities of Kineshma, Plyos, Shuya and Yurievets.


FROM MOSCOW

The only train between Moscow and Ivanovo is the Moscow Yaroslavsky-Ivanovo/Kineshma overnight train, which takes around 7 hours and leaves late at night and arrives early in the morning.  Schedules can be found in Russian on Yandex Timetables: Moscow - Ivanovo & Ivanovo - Moscow.

Buses/minibuses run between Moscow's Schyolkovskaya bus station (Schyolkovskaya metro station - станция метро Щелковская) and Ivanovo Bus Station almost every hour. It takes from between 5 and 6 hours. 

There are five flights a week from Moscow, operated by Rusline airlines. Planes leave from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport in the evening. It takes about 1 hour.


 

FROM ST PETERSBURG

The most convenient train from St Petersburg is the daily Tekstilny Krai premium ("firmenny") train which runs from St Petersburg's Moskovsky Railway Station to Ivanovo.
